Lisa Willmer, Principal
Lisa has advised technology and media companies for over 20 years. Before joining CCS, Lisa was Vice President, Corporate Counsel at Getty Images. Prior to that, Lisa held in-house counsel positions at Microsoft and Amazon, was a trial attorney at the US Department of Justice’s Computer Crime & Intellectual Property Section, and an associate of Perkins Coie LLP. Lisa began her legal career by clerking for the US District Court for the District of Hawaii and for the US Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.
In her practice with CCS, Lisa focuses on providing services to established and emerging companies, including:
· technology transactions
· structuring, drafting, and negotiating contracts of all types - including licensing and distribution agreements; vendor services agreements; strategic partnership agreements; non-disclosure agreements; release agreements
· marketing and advertising review - including sponsorship and ad technology agreements; contests/sweepstakes; print, digital and social media campaigns
· product counseling – work with companies to launch new products and evaluate risk with existing products
· intellectual property counseling, policy, enforcement, and strategy
· media law counseling - including copyright; trademark; right of publicity; and First Amendment
· pre-publication review of editorial content
· sales and business development support
· due diligence for mergers and acquisitions
· advising on business-to-business and consumer protection issues
· creation and revision of template agreements
